The chord is a diminished chord.

KEY Strategy

Practice in bursts or chunks

It is based on Joe Satriani’s arpeggio run in Tears in the Rain (See below for video). The ability to do a speed burst with the right hand should be practiced in one position before adding the left hand shift. Practice the chord and its various inversions separately until they are mentally secured. Learn to chunk your information, as once you have it up to a fast speed you won’t have time to think about it as individual movements; just as chunks.

Other Info

Note: This study is based on a diminished chord which has the ability to be in 4 other keys: G# B D F

Secret

Laser the shift with your eyes

Know exactly which fret you are going to by keeping your eyes ahead of your fingers, like a laser targeting system.

Want More?

Click the link below if you want to get faster with your arpeggios.

(Micro Study 1 link)

Tears in The Rain

Free Download

Click the button and save a PDF copy of the dots.

Micro Study 7

Micro study 7 – diminished arpeggio 1, kicks off a new series – #6stringinspiration – of short and sweet studies that target very specific musical bars or techniques.
