Giving fingering tips, any hacks, and many more insights into learning this Argentinian Tango.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">La Muerta del Angel by Astor Piazzola<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"La Muerte del Angel Astor Piazzolla Classical Guitar Lesson (PART 1)\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/PnFylnUpaUU?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This is Tango was originally part of a four-piece suite &#8220;<strong><em>The Angel Series<\/em><\/strong>&#8220;, which was based on a play by <a href=\"https:\/\/es-m-wikipedia-org.translate.goog\/w\/index.php?title=Alberto_Rodr%C3%ADguez_Mu%C3%B1oz&amp;action=edit&amp;redlink=1&amp;_x_tr_sl=es&amp;_x_tr_tl=en&amp;_x_tr_hl=en&amp;_x_tr_pto=sc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Alberto Rodr\u00edguez Mu\u00f1oz<\/a>. It was completed in 1965, it is based on the story of an Angel that tries to heal and help humanity, only to be killed in a knife fight (a feature of Piazzolla&#8217;s music). The suite has 4 movements:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=CbIfQdgeB4g\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Introduction of<\/a>, <\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=h0ha2ZM0L0g\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Milonga of<\/a>.<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=wIfVzZWyHok\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Death of<\/a>, <\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=wIfVzZWyHok\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Resurrection of<\/a>.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Click on the last three links to see Astor live, in concert, absolutely slaying these pieces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"learn-bach-s-allegro-bwv-998\">Learn Piazzolla\u2019s La Muerta del Angel Tango (Section A)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/classicalguitarrocks.com\/cgr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/1.png\" alt=\"1\" title=\"1.png\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This first section of <em>La Muerte del Angel<\/em> needs to be in tempo, crisp, and punchy. You are going to learn the opening riff, along with help on nailing that 2 octave scale with two different fingerings. There is the usual advice on how to practice pieces, along with a short lesson at the end on how to perform the pizzicato technique you need in this section.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">La Muerta del Angel (Section A) Next Chunk<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/classicalguitarrocks.com\/cgr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/6.png\" alt=\"6\" title=\"6.png\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The second section continues here with lots of new elements, a walking bass line, chord stabs, and poly rhythms. We also have the vestiges of Piazzolla\u2019s eduction in Paris with Nadia Boulanger: chromatic movement. There is room for some adjustment to the chords, as this is an arrangement. So do not be scared to alter notes to make it easier to grip the chords. I use a lot of open strings to shift through those scale figures, but they are open to adjusting to your style of playing guitar. The arrangement calls for extra variations to be added to the Tango stabs.
