YouTube Inspiration: Christmas Music Playlist

YouTube Inspiration: Christmas Music Playlist

These CGRocks are here to provide some outside YouTube Christmas inspiration for your guitar practice and daily music habit

This list contains some real gems on the guitar, it also has some videos on the ability to create music on the fly, from a wide variety of sources. There is Jason Vieaux and Alison Krauss; Michael Lucarrelli, and Nathan Mills. All amazing artists but let’s focus on one very briefly.

Of that list I would like to introduce Justin Sandercoe, and his life through his amazing guitar teaching online and videos – Youtube channel here. One seriously hard, really hard, working musician, who inspires.

Justin Sandercoe is one of the dudes that motivates through his massive online guitar school – Justin Guitar – and all of it free!!. So, in a nutshell: He is an Aussie who moved to the UK and began to search for other avenues of making a living. Thus he set up his online guitar school. He also played with, and did some producing for Katie Melua. He was her guitar teacher.

Importantly he also cares enough to share his life and knowledge in a variety of ways: from articles in Guitar Techniques (here) to a master classes for ICMP (here) and writing for the Registry of Guitar Tutors (here).

So below are my top three videos, and this was a tough choice as no way have I seen all of them, but of the ones I have watched these are worth sharing. In no particular order other than what I can see on YouTube:

1.Intro Folk Style Guitar lessons

2. His intro to Jazz Chords

3. Justin Talking to Martin Taylor about Gypsy Jazz

So hopefully this little side trip gives you some insight and some inspiration for getting in and playing Christmas music, not just guitar!
