  • editorial
Classical Guitar magazine, Summer 2017 cover

Have you got the Summer 2017 edition of Classical Guitar magazine? It has a great method article on Dionisio Aguado‘s Study No. 16 by Rhayn Jooste.

This lesson delves into playing with your fingers, alternating strokes, speed and coordination.

There is a load of bonus material as well due to Rhayn being inspired so there is an extra lesson here at CGRocks on 19th century guitars and how they stack up to our modern axes.

This is a massive lesson and is totally free, just head over to Classical Guitar magazine for all the words and downloads.

Full Aguado Lesson

The full lesson is now here on CGRocks. It breaks Estudio No. 16 into five micro studies for alternating fingering, string-crossing at speed, slurs and chord changes. It also has Aguado’s own exercises from the 1843 method, both videos, and the score and TAB.

There is also a companion post on Aguado’s note under the study, where he asks for planting in 1843: Aguado’s Estudio No. 16: Planting in 1843.
